In high school football action tonight, Clarinda, the sixth-ranked team in Class 2-A, visits Atlantic, Class 3-A’s fourth-ranked team. Clarinda opened the season by cruising past Red Oak, but coach Dave Carper will get a better feel for his team tonight.Carper says his team could use a good start to this game, as it’s been around four years since they’ve beaten Atlantic.Carper says they will be a better team after this game, as it only helps going against a better team.LeMars opened with a shutout win over Emmetsburg, which was last week’s second-ranked team in class 2A. LeMars faces another challenge tonight with a visit to this week’s second-ranked team in class 2A, Central Lyon/George-Little Rock.LeMars coach Jim Boyd says they’ll face some large running backs and linemen. Last year, LeMars claimed a 7-0 victory in a game dominated by defense.In class 2A, fifth ranked Williamsburg is on the road to play top rated Sigourney-Keota.
