Iowa State guard Luke Vander Sanden returned to practice on Monday and may play in the Cyclones’ game this Saturday against Troy State. Vander Sanden has been sidelined since suffering a broken ankle in practice back on August ninth. He says they’ll gradually work Vander Sanden into practice and hope he’ll play Saturday. Cyclone coach Dan McCarney says Vander Sanden’s progress is way ahead of schedule. He says they won’t start him, but will play him.McCarney says the Cyclones cannot afford a letdown this week against a Troy State team that that has played some of the country’s top teams on the road and given them a good game.
