A storm front that passed through the Burlington area just after midnight caused some excitement, for at least one police officer. Assistant Police Chief Dan Luttenegger says for the most part the storm brought only wind and rain, nothing particularly severe. It was kind of spotty, he says and a squad car was involved in a minor incident. He says the officer was driving past the airport on the town’s south side and a portable roadwork sign blew onto the hood of the squad car, scratching it and knocking off the license plate. Assistant Chief Luttenegger says it certainly scared the officer but did no serious damage, and the storm lasted only a short time.
