Voters in the Decorah school district defeated a six-point-one million dollar bond issue Tuesday. The issue got 57-percent approval, but needed 60-percent to pass. Proponents wanted to tear down the middle school in Decorah and replace it with a new larger building and gym in a project that would’ve cost over 10-million altogether. This is the third time a bond issue has failed.
