Over four-dozen workers at John Deere’s Dubuque works are being laid off. Ken Golden is a spokesman for the farm equipment maker. Golden says about 50 people will be laid off indefinitely. He says there’s weaker demand for construction equipment, and that’s why the company’s laying off workers. The Dubuque plant makes industrial equipment. Deere currently employs 850 workers at its Dubuque plant.
