The Northern Iowa football team will try to stop the bleeding when they host eighth-ranked Western Illinois. The Panthers have dropped four of their last five games and stand just 1-4 in the Gateway. Panther coach Mark Farley says a victory over Western would in no way make up for what has become a difficult season. Farley says the program has experienced too much success to have one game make its season. He says the end result is what makes a season, not just one or two football games. Western Illinois is tied for the Gateway Conference lead with Western Kentucky.
