Rock Valley Basketball standout Deb Remmerde has signed a letter of intent to play college basketball at the University of Iowa. Remmerde had verbally committed to play for the Hawkeyes in March, but signed on the dotted line Wednesday. She said the Iowa coaching staff was a big reason that she chose the Hawkeye’s Remmerde says she loves the coaches, who she describes as “all-around great people.” Remmerde also considered Iowa State, spent time on both campuses and decided Iowa City was where she wanted to be. Remmerde says she’s looking forward to the challenge of playing in the Big 10. Remmerde has led Rock Valley to back to back state basketball championships, and is headed to Cedar Rapids to play in the State Volleyball tournament this weekend.
