The state’s unemployment rate inched up again in October. Iowa’s unemployment rate rose to four percent in October, up from three-point-nine percent in September. That translates into 65-thousand-700 people looking for work. Labor market analyst Ann Wagoner says businesses aren’t doing a lot of hiring. And she says the lack of hiring also led to the loss of 26-hundred jobs in business services in October. She says that includes temp workers, telemarketing, advertising and computer services. Wagoner says there were also layoffs in government for the same types of services. While Iowa’s unemployment rate inched up, it is still below the national rate.for October of five-point-seven percent.
