A pilot survived the crash of his small plane in Linn County last night.The Linn County Sheriff’s Department received a 9-1-1 call around 9:30 from a pilot of a single engine plane claiming he had crashed his single-engine plane in a field north of the Marion airport. The owner of the airport found the plane upside down in the field. The pilot, 44-year-old Christopher McKenna of Cedar Rapids, was taken to a Cedar Rapids hospital where he was treated and released. McKenna was flying from Chicago to Cedar Rapids when he apparently experienced engine problems. The F-A-A has been called in to investigate the crash.
