Cedar Rapids police discovered a rolling meth lab Friday morning. Police got a report of a man sleeping in a car at a carwash in Cedar Rapids. An officer rousted the man, and while they were running a check to see if he was wanted on any warrants, the man drove the car through the carwash door and fled. He ran into another car at a nearby intersection, then jumped out of the car and ran. Police and a police dog chased him down. He’s identified as 28-year-old Bobby Joe Witt of Cedar Rapids, and he’s been charged with a number of drug crimes relating to the meth lab police found in his car as well as several traffic violations. The driver of the car Witt smacking into as he was trying to get away was taken to the hospital but wasn’t seriously hurt.
