John Deere will team up with a Canadian company to make a new line ofpowered vehicles. The farm implement maker’s Ken Golden says Deere isn’t turning torecreational products, even though the Bombardier company makes all-terrainvehicles. Golden says Bombardier is “an expert in recreation” and Deere’sexpert at making powered vehicles used for work, so Bombardier will makesome vehicles that supplement Deere’s lines of work vehicles. He says a farmer wants to get out onto a piece of land quick would take oneof these ATV’s so they’re for workers who want to be more productive. Goldensays it’s a way for Deere to expand without departing from its customerfocus.
