Ever wonder what it might be like to sit on a satellite? Imagine no longer. An exhibit now open at the Science Center of Iowa offers visitors the chance to explore a variety of leading-edge space technologies and participate in fascinating activities — all involving man-made machines in orbit. Tracey Bruner Rayhons,spokeswoman for the Des Moines facility, says it lets people see what cutting edge space technology is like.Bruner Rayhons says the hands-on exhibit titled “Eyes on Earth” brings plenty of far-out experiments down to earth.She says one part of the exhibit allows visitors to design their own satellites using functioning solar panels that power the subsystems.The exhibit opened this past week and will be at the Science Center of Iowa through April.
