A tiny southwest Iowa town is one step closer to dissolving. The Kent City Development Board has voted to hold a city-wide election on the idea of disbanding. Steve McCann, administrator of Kent’s City Development Board, says he’ll contact state officials and set a date for the election. McCann says the election will be held within 90 days, and if it passes, the town’s finances will be placed in the hands of his board. McCann says the City Development Board would pay any bills that come due in the next six months, and then any remaining assets would be turned over to the county.
