Rock Valley won a third consecutive Class 1A state title with a 71-55 win over Rockwell City-Lytton. The state’s all-time leading scorer Deb Remmerde closed out her career with 28-points and a third title.Remmerde says it feels about the same, but it’s big to go out with a win and there is a touch of sadness being her final game. She says she can’t explain how fun it is to play with her teammates.Trailing by six in the second quarter, Rock Valley coach Preston Kooimas changed defenses to a trap and it ignited a 14-0 run for the Rockets. Kooima says the pressure was also designed to get Rockwell City-Lytton to play at a faster pace. Ankeny won it’s second straight title 37-25 over Muscatine in the 4A title game.
