The class 2A quarterfinals continue at the Boys’ State Basketball tournament. Sioux Center earned a third victory this season over Siouxland Conference rival Okoboji but was forced to earn it. The second-seeded Warriors built a 12-point halftime lead then held off a second rally by the Pioneers for a 57-45 win. Sioux Center earns a trip to the semifinals after a heartbreaking loss in the opening round last year.Sioux Center coach Todd Arends says it feels a lot better, even though they didn’t play better than they played last year. Okoboji closed to wthin two at 38-36 late in the third but a quick 6-0 helped the Warriors regain control.Okoboji coach Gordon Jorgensen was not surprised his team rallied despite a 12-point halftime deficit because of their ability to press.Michael Dickes led a balanced Warrior attack with 12-points. Chase Lenz led Okoboji with 13.
