Waterloo East won the class 4A state title with a 72-52 win over North Scott. It was the third title for the school which also claimed championships in 1974 and 1990. The victory also was the 500th in the career of East coach Steve McGraw. Pella claimed a second straight 3A crown with a 66-52 win over Harlan.
