A hit-and-run driver has left a central Iowa woman badly hurt. Police say a Des Moines woman was hit by a car in the parking lot of a capitol city flower shop Tuesday afternoon about four. Witnesses say the motorist ran over 63-year-old Juanita Shorter before driving away. Shorter is listed in critical but stable condition at a Des Moines hospital. Investigators say the store’s security camera has the suspect on tape. The driver’s identified as an Hispanic female, 20 to 30 years old, between five-two and five-six, 160 to 200 pounds, driving a maroon car like a Taurus or Sable with Iowa plates only on the back bumper.
