Qwest Communications will open a new service center in Des Moines, and will hire 140 people to run it. Michael Sadler, a spokesman for the company, calls it a “customer loyalty center.”Sadler says it’ll be a “one-stop-shop” residential customers can call, and they won’t get tranferred from one customer service rep to another.The new customer service center will take calls from Qwest’s 14-state region and will operate out of the Qwest building in downtown Des Moines. Qwest has a workforce of more than 50-thousand, serving over 25 million customers.
