After 27 seasons as boys’ basketball coach for the Webster City Lynx, Bob Josten is stepping down. Josten will continue as teacher at Webster City High School, and as Athletic Director, but plans to follow his son Jared, an Allstate point guard next season, as he’ll be playing with the University of Northern Iowa Panthers. Josten’s record for the Lynx boys team has been 368-235, and he got the boys to 2 state-tournament appearances, in 1985 and 2001. In the North Central Conference he won 8 league titles including one this past season. Webster City’s school board is expected to accept Josten’s resignation coach at the next meeting and to begin a search for his replacement.
