A Linn County Sheriff’s Deputy who died from injuries received in an off-duty accident was drunk at the time of the crash. An accident report released this week says 51-year-old Robert Johnson of rural Central City had a blood alcohol level of point-one-five-one (.151), which is nearly twice the legal limit. Johnson was driving ans-u-v on a Linn County road September 3rd, when he lost controlled and rolled into a ditch. Johnson was thrown from the vehicle. He was hospitalized in Cedar Rapids for two weeks before he died.
