Wednesday will be a busy one in the Iowa Games office as 29 sports face an entry deadline for next months sports festival in Ames. Iowa Games executive director Jim Hallihan says the number of youth soccer teams remain strong this year. It is the second straight year that teams did not have to qualify through regional play. He says they’re getting a lot of under 8 teams that play for ribbons. He says that allows them to play and get used to the games and learn about sportsmanship before they move on. The Iowa Games are July 16th through the 18th and the 23rd through the 25th.For more information, go to www.iowagames.org.
