Up to 15-thousand motorcycling enthusiasts are rumbling into Kossuth County this weekend for the 20th Annual ABATE Freedom Rally near Algona. ABATE stands for A Brotherhood Aimed Towards Education. ABATE of Iowa assistant state coordinator Jim Benford says there’s lots to offer. Benford says they’ll have lots of good music and food as ABATE organizers have also been working to keep the rally grounds beautiful. Benford says some quality musical acts will highlight the weekend. ABATE of Iowa bought its own campground a few years ago about three miles east and four miles north of Algona, and Benford says it was a smart purchase, as they were outgrowing their site in Humboldt. Benford says anybody is welcome to attend the rally, as it’s open to the public with weekend passes or a one-day Sunday pass. For more information about the rally, surf to “www.abateiowa.org”.
