UNI improved to 4-1 in the Missouri Valley Conference after a 68-63 win over Southwest Missouri State last night in the dome. The Panthers hit 5 of 6 free throws down the stretch to hold off the Bears after building a 15 point lead to start the second half. Erik Crawford led UNI with 19 points and Ben Jacobsen added 18. Senior guard Chris Foster added 13-points and says as a native of Missouri it is always fun to beat the Bears and tough to do. It was UNI’s 11th straight win at home and they’re now 18-1 in their last 19 games at home. The Panthers are 12-3 overall and 3-1 in the conference and will be at home this weekend to play Creighton.
