A man from western Iowa’s Carroll County is suing the Des Moines Register after his newspaper carrier allegedly assaulted him. Dale Peterson claims he suffered a broken leg and internal injuries when he was assaulted by Register carrier Leslie Duff on March 16th of 2004. Peterson called the paper as he didn’t get a paper that morning. The suit says Duff delivered a paper to Peterson’s house, then assaulted him. Peterson seeks compensation for medical expenses and punitive damages for pain and suffering. Duff pleaded guilty to assault and attempted burglary in connection with the incident and was ordered to serve ten days in jail.
