A settlement has been reached in the case of the high-priced funeral for a Bedford woman. The Taylor County Clerk of Courts office says an agreement between the Ruth Morrow estate along with the charities mentioned as benefactors and the Eichemeyer Funeral Chapel of Clarinda was approved in court Tuesday. Objections had been filed over a 64-thousand dollar bill for Mrs. Morrow’s funeral which included a reported 51-thousand dollar bronze casket, transportation to a California cemetery in Hollywood. The settlement must now be presented to the courts on June 7th. The details of the settlement were to be sealed but were earlier released and included an agreement of a 25-thousand dollar charge to the estate with the funeral home reserving the right to still file a lawsuit to recoup the remaining funds.
