Authorities are asking for the public’s help in finding an inmate who walked away from a northeast Iowa work release program over the weekend. Officials want to know the whereabouts of 27-year-old Michael Prunty. Authorities placed him on escape status Saturday night after he failed to return to a corrections facility in Waterloo. Officials say Prunty was serving a 16-year prison term from Black Hawk County for second-degree burglary, domestic assault, and assault while participating in a felony. They’re asking for the public’s help in finding him. Prunty is described as a white male with brown hair and hazel eyes, about five-feet, six-inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds. Anyone knowing of his whereabouts should contact their local law enforcement agency.
