The Floyd County Attorney says foul play is the cause of a five-year-old’s death earlier this month. Floyd County Attorney Marilyn Dettmer confirmed in a press release Monday night that the body found last week is that of five-year-old Evelyn Miller, who was reported missing July 1st after her mother returned to her rural Floyd home. Dettmer says the preliminary results of an autopsy from the state medical examiner’s office states that Miller died of foul play, and the county attorney’s office is treating the case as a homicide. Dettmer would not release the exact cause of death, and adds that officials are still awaiting D-N-A analysis confirmation. Dettmer says there is no comment on any suspects or evidence connected with the case as the investigation continues. The public is still being asked for help regarding any leads into Miller’s disappearance. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office at 641-228-1821. A funeral for Miller will be held Thursday morning at 11 o’clock at the Congregational Church in Charles City.
