Lewis Central bids for a third trip to the state baseball tournament in the last five years when the fifth ranked Titans visit Sioux City North in a class 4A sub-state final. Lewis Central is 34-5 on the season but coach Lee Toole says with only four rated teams left in 4A nothing is assured. He says they can’t take anything for granted at this time of year as it’s “one and done” and they will have to play their ‘A’ game no matter who they meet on the field.Toole says his team has played well in close games and that’s what it takes to make a tournament run. He says they have learned from past experiences and feel they will prevail in pressure situation, senior leadership with a history on the team also build confidence he says.Toole says North tries to put pressure on the defense and are aggressive on the bases, but as long as Lewis Central don’t get shaken, Toole says they will be fine.Sioux City North is 24-14 on the season.
