That was no secret shopper who came into the Dollar Store in Belmond Tuesday. When a car crashed through the front of the building, manager Rex Pepper didn’t quite know what was going on and still isn’t sure he does. “We’re still tryin’ to figure that out,” he says. A woman just “came right through the building,” he says, didn’t have time to hit her brakes or stop when her car came plunging into the store. It was about 1:30 Tuesday afternoon, and investigators were still working on determining what happened while the manager boarded up his front window to close for the night. Nobody was hurt.
