A north-central Iowa couple’s been charged with 25 counts of animal neglect. The Franklin County Sheriff’s office says they executed a search warrant west of Hampton, where they took fifteen dogs, eight birds, one ferret, and two hedgehogs from the home. Jeffrey Buseman and Shelley Allison are also facing 14 counts of failure to prove rabies vaccinations, as well as one count of operating a kennel without a license. All the animals have been taken to the Cedar Bend Humane Society in Waterloo, where they’re being held until the case has been resolved.
