A Clarksville man has pleaded -not- guilty to a charge of first-degree murder in the death of a Waterloo man. 24-year-old James Raymond Dean is charged in the death of Jesse Patchin. Raymond submitted a written plea in Floyd County District Court, also demanding a speedy trial. No trial date has been set. Raymond has admitted in court documents to using and distributing methamphetamine on October 1st, the last day Patchin was seen by relatives. Another man, 54-year-old Charles Gallmeyer, is also being held in the Floyd County Jail without bond as a material witness in the case. Authorities have said evidence in the case indicates Patchin’s body is somewhere in the Mason City area. Patchin’s family searched rural areas southeast of Mason City over the weekend, not turning up any new evidence in the case.
