A western Iowa teen is hospitalized after authorities say he was accidentally shot. Police in Mapleton say the 17-year-old boy was accidentally shot in the back of the head while target shooting with three friends last night in Mapleton. The boy, who’s a junior wrestler at Maple Valley High School in Mapleton, was flown by helicopter to a Sioux City Hospital. The boy’s name and condition have not been released. Classes are still being held in the Maple Valley School District today, though a planned bus trip to the state wrestling tournament was cancelled.
