A teenager was killed and four people were hurt in a head-on collision Saturday night in west-central Iowa’s Greene County. The Iowa State Patrol says vehicles driven by 16-year old Steven John Hall, of Scranton, and 44-year old Patrick Milferd Taggart, of Jefferson, were headed in opposite directions on 230th Street, when they collided at the crest of a hill.

Hall was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other teens in his vehicle…16-year old Chasta Hauger and 17-year old Heather Lea Scott…both of Audubon, and 17-year old Seth Butler, of Scranton…were transported to the Greene County Hospital in Jefferson, before being transferred to Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. The Patrol says Taggart was also taken to the hospital, treated for his injuries, then released. The accident occurred just before eight-p.m. Saturday, two-miles east of Scranton.
