A trial date is set for a Council Bluffs man who’s charged with killing his wife. The trial for 40-year old Stanley Tribble was set Monday, for November 14th, after Pottawattamie County Attorney Matt Wilber submitted documents to a district court, outlining evidence against the man.

Tribble was charged with first-degree murder following the death of his 35-year wife Tracy Gostomski-Tribble. Tracy disappeared May third. Her battered body was found in the Missouri River, south of Council Bluffs, May 19th.

Autopsy results show she likely died from asphyxiation, either by smothering or drowning. The medical examiner’s report indicated she suffered from multiple blunt force injuries, including at least three to the head.

Stan Tribble is being held in the Pottawattamie County Jail on 500-thousand dollars bond. He has until September 18th to enter a plea in the case.
