After consulting with the Mexican Consulate in Omaha, the Crawford County Sheriff is revising the names of two people involved in a fatal car-train accident near Arion last Thursday. The fatality, originally identified as 21-year-old Rosario Escobedo of Denison, has now be identified as Gloria Santos. One of the two injured persons, initially identified as 24-year-old Jose Rosenbaum of Denison, has now been identified as Jose Reyes.

According to the sheriff’s office, both are Mexican nationals who were working in Denison under assumed names. Jose Reyes is in stable condition at Creighton Medical Center in Omaha. The third occupant of the car, four-year-old David Reyes, is also at Creighton and has been upgraded from serious to stable condition. According to the sheriff’s office, Santos did not have a license to drive. The accident remains under investigation.
