Donations are coming in to give a reward to someone who can give authorities clues that would lead to the capture of those who severely beat a puppy in Cedar Rapids. Three teenagers allegedly beat the puppy last Friday.

The dog died Monday. Apalo, a Saint Bernard puppy, was found howling in pain outside his owners’ home on Friday. The puppy was rushed to the vet. Mark Streight says his dog started having seizures on Sunday.

Streight says he’s glad his puppy is no longer in pain. Cedar Rapids Police are following up on several leads in the case. Friends who live in the trailer park with the dog’s owners have been going door-to-door, asking neighbors whether they saw the puppy beating.
