A southeast Iowa doctor is quitting his practice after being accused of several misdeeds.

A Fairfield physician gives up his medical license to settle state allegations that he broke ethical rules.

The Iowa Board of Medical Examiners has accused 49-year-old Dr. Larry Sutton of inappropriately prescribing medications over the Internet, as well as to himself, family and friends. They also say he prescribed the weight-loss medication known as fen-phen after doctors were told to stop prescribing it.

Sutton denies doing anything improper and doesn’t want to spend the money to fight legal allegations.
