As northeast Iowa cleans up from severe weather and flooding a day ago, another region of the state was hit with heavy rain and high winds last night. The storms brought down tree limbs near the towns of Blairsburg and Williams in Hamilton County but no serious damage was reported.

Webster City received nearly an inch of rain in about 45 minutes late yesterday afternoon. In nearby Fort Dodge, some 200 customers of MidAmerican Energy were without power for a few hours last evening.

Crews restored the electricity late last night. Severe thunderstorm warnings were posted for Webster, Humboldt, Wright, Hamilton, Hardin and Story counties early last evening. The good news is that the heat and humidity should be away at least for the next few days.
