The College football season gets an early start in Forest City, tomorrow, when William Penn visits Waldorf. Penn has high hopes coming into the season and fourth year coach Todd Hafner says the Statesmen are ready for a game. Hafner says the anticipation is there all summer and they had a great camp in preparing to play.

Hafner says in any season opening game limiting mistakes is a key. He says many of the mistakes now are because of nerves and you eliminate that by making the kids feel confident.

This will be the debut for new Waldorf coach Greg Youngblood who says Penn will be a difficult test, as they’re a solid group with good numbers. He says William Penn has steadily improved in the last several years.

Youngblood says the Warriors are looking forward to getting the season started. He says they came in about a week earlier then other teams to get ready. It is the first time these schools have met in football.
