The Todd Lickliter era begins at Iowa this evening as the Hawkeyes host Idaho State. Lickliter says every season opener carries some added excitement, but there’s always some apprehension, as you always feel like you could be more prepared.
Lickliter wants to see the Hawks make progress on the defensive end. He says right now they’re just sharing space with the other team and hoping the ball comes to them or they’re just fortunate to get it. Lickliter says they need stop that and defend with purpose by finishing plays and holding their ground and now sharing their area with the opponent.
