Tips from the public have helped authorities in central Iowa identify two men who are accused of taking a donation canister for cancer research from a gas station.
Officers are now looking for 49-year-old Leroy Willis III and 38-year-old Timothy Senger. (see pictures below)
The two suspects were caught on surveillance video taking the canister from a gas station in the Des Moines suburb of Grimes.
The donation box features the picture and story of six-year-old Will Krueger who has battled leukemia for two-and-a-half years. His parents, Peggy and Brad Krueger, own five convenience stores in the Des Moines metro.

“We were searching for something that we could do to help out and we decided we could raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. So, we do various events throughout the year and we put the donation canisters at the gas stations,” Peggy said. Customers put a lot of change and paper bills in the canisters, which can fill up quickly with $300 to $500.
This is the third time that someone has stolen a donation canister from one of the Krueger’s stores. “It’s disappointing,” Peggy said. “What if that canister, that jar of money that was going to go to cancer research, what if that would’ve been the life saving dollar?” The Krueger’s son, Will, is still fighting leukemia – but has been in better health lately.
“The first year-and-a-half was extremely difficult,” Peggy said. “We almost lost him a few times. At this point, the medications have changed a bit. We’re on a maintenance track right now. We’re still on a lot of chemotherapy and steroids, but it’s to the point where he’s definitely better and we’re not in the hospital as much.”
