A Sioux City man remains hospitalized with numerous injuries after he was struck by a pickup truck early Sunday morning. Police say 31-year-old William Kammerer was riding his bicycle around five A.M. Sunday on the city’s west side when he was struck by a pickup.

Investigators say Kammerer became caught under the truck and was dragged 150 feet. The pickup then ran over Kammerer as he got loose and dropped to the roadway. The driver of the truck then drove away. Officers found the pickup truck later, and arrested a Sioux City man.

Twenty-one-year old Fernando Garcia is charged with leaving the scene of an accident, failing to yield and not having insurance. Kammerer sustained several broken bones and other injuries. He is hospitalized at Mercy Medical Center in serious condition.
