A weekend car-pedestrian accident killed one person in Davenport. It happened Saturday afternoon in the southwest part of the city. Police say the driver of a car stopped at an intersection.
When he pulled ahead, 23-year-old Martin Eason of Davenport suddenly appeared from the side and was struck. Eason died at the scene, and an autopsy is being scheduled. Cops say alcohol does not appear to be a factor, and no charges have been filed pending an investigation.
