Both parents now face criminal charges in the death of a baby in Sioux City back in April.

The two-month-old infant, Leonard Williams, was dead when his father brought him to a hospital emergency room April 29. His mother, Rebekah Williams-McCarthy, has now been charged with child endangerment resulting in death and three counts of neglect of a dependent person. She’s being held in the Woodbury County Jail on $50,000 bond.

The father, Michael Daryl Williams, was previously charged with neglect of a dependant person. He has pleaded not guilty. Court records state that Michael Williams told police he is addicted to meth, marijuana and adderall and didn’t call an ambulance for the baby because of arrest warrants against him. His trial is scheduled to begin September 16.
