A 16-year-old Storm Lake boy died late Monday afternoon in a farm accident near Truesdale.
Buena Vista County authorities say the boy, identified as Conner Weiland, was attempting to clear a piece of farm machinery that had been plugged while harvesting corn. Wieland lost his footing and became entangled in the harvesting machinery. Paramedics found the victim dead at the scene.
The Buena Vista County Medical Examiner and the county sheriff’s office continue to investigate the accident. The accident happened during what has been designated as National Farm Safety and Health Week.
