Inmates at a northwest Iowa jail are no longer getting cable TV. For the last 24 years, Cable One has provided the Woodbury County Jail with free cable service.

That service was eliminated last Friday after Cable One informed the sheriff’s office they would start charging the jail $68 a month. Sheriff Dave Drew says he’s currently researching the use of an antenna that will provide a limited number of free television channels at no cost to taxpayers. Federal law requires jails to provide some type of TV service to inmates.
