The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission elected new leaders this morning at their meeting in Ames. Bill Hansen is the new chairman and Rita Sealock is vice-chair. Both Hansen and Sealock are holdovers from the Branstad administration. The five-member commision that oversees the state’s casinos, riverboats and race tracks is meeting for the first time today since Governor Vilsack replaced three members. Vilsack removed commission chair Brad Peyton, vice-chair Jackie Allen and commission member Harold White. Hansen says the commission will follow the Governor’s mandate to regulate and not legislate when it comes to overseeing the gambling industry.
