Nope, they’re not nudists, but dozens of “naturalists” from across Iowa are meeting in Cedar Rapids today and tomorrow for their annual spring conference. The 120 men and women are members of the Iowa Association of Naturalists. Rich Patterson is a naturalist and is spokesman for the Indian Creek Nature Center which is hosting the two-day event. Patterson says naturalists know a little bit about a lot of things. Patterson says naturalists are educators who try to bring nature to school children,families and the general public. During the conference, Patterson says they’ll be learning from each other and from guest lecturers. He saysnaturalists know things about nature in categories from geology to astronomy
