Governor Vilsack is raising concerns about a bill which he says will reduce public access to information about nursing home abuses. Vilsack says the bill, which has cleared the Senate, would erase from the public record nursing home violations which are quickly corrected. Vilsack says it renders useless the state report card system which publicly discloses nursing homeviolations. Republican legislators say they’re surprised by Vilsack’s complaints but will meet with him to review the bill.
