Emmet County passes sales tax

Northwestern Iowans who buy retail products in Emmet County will pay sixcents on the dollar starting July first. A one-cent sales tax hike was passed Tuesday by 63-to-36 percent. It’sexpected to raise 800-thousand dollars a year for schools.
